Damien Chazelle’s La La Land is a cinematic masterpiece that paints a bittersweet portrait of love, ambition, and the sacrifices we make to chase our dreams. The brushes and not to forget the canvas used have truly made me rethink so many conceptions and perspectives. Set against the backdrop of Los Angeles, the film follows aspiring jazz pianist Sebastian (Ryan Gosling) and aspiring actress Mia (Emma Stone) as they navigate the challenges of their respective careers while falling deeply in love. It’s truly remarkable how different their place of interest and even their plans to pursue them and yet they merged with such intimacy which melted my heart.

The film’s visual style is breathtaking, with vibrant colors and sweeping shots that capture the luminance and aesthetics  of Los Angeles. The cinematography is particularly impressive during the musical numbers, which are both visually stunning and emotionally resonant. The soundtrack, composed by Justin Hurwitz, is another highlight, seamlessly blending jazz, pop, and classical elements to create a truly unforgettable listening experience.

Gosling and Stone deliver exceptional performances, bringing their characters to life with nuance and depth. Their on-screen chemistry is indisputable  and their musical numbers together are a joy to watch. The film’s exploration of their relationship is both heartwarming and heartbreaking, as they struggle to balance their love for each other with their individual ambitions.

While the film’s focus on the entertainment industry may make it feel somewhat harrowing  its themes of love, loss, and the pursuit of happiness are universal. La La Land is a must-watch for fans of musicals, romantic dramas, and films that stay with you long after the credits roll.. As a person who struggles with emotional comprehension, this film has made me rethink, re-watch and redo so many points of emotions and specially abstract emotion that I had to let go of my tears from time to time in response to those overflows. I haven’t got too much or more words to tell about this movie either than saying that Sebastian is literally me and if you really want to deep dive in those pool of emotions you have to watch this movie.
